Building on the success of our past cables workshops held in 2008, CEATI International's 2013 event will focus on asset management, operational strategies as well as design and worker safety. The program will focus on best practices as well as lessons learned.

Supported by over 40 utilities from around the world, CEATI's Distribution Assets Life Cycle Management and Transmission Underground Cables Interest Groups will combine forces once again to develop the T&D industry's premier cables focused utility gathering.

Session 4: Worker Safety

  • Worker Protection on De-Energized Systems and Arc Flash
  • Utility Practices on Grounding and Bonding in UG Cable Maintenance Work
  • Maintenance Procedures and Worker Safety

  1. Educate each other;
  2. Provide knowledge and procedures necessary to manage the risks associated with T&D cables;
  3. Identify areas where additional research may improve our knowledge of T&D cables;
  4. Identify ways to assure that the knowledge of the past is available for the future;
  5. Develop a strategy to ensure the continuation of global communication, coordination and collaboration.
