Additional Information

Summary Papers and Presentations should adhere to the following Guidelines set forth by the CEATI International Dam Safety Interest Group. It is important that submissions follow all of the elements of the Outline for Summary Papers and Presentations in order to achieve the goals of the workshop and for the benefit of capturing important information concerning your case study that can be included in a database for use by others globally. In addition, an Example Case History has been provided for your reference.

  • Other Guidelines Include:

    • Summary Papers must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (DOC).
    • Presentations must be submitted in Power Point format (PPT).
    • Summary Papers and Presentations will be distributed to attendees in secure electronic (protected PDF) and paper.
    • Maximum of 25 slides per Power Point Presentation.
    • Each Presenter will be allocated 45 minutes of presentation time.
    • Presenters will participate as Panel Members for a Panel and Open Discussion concerning both the presenter’s specific presentation as well as discussion of the failure mode (or potential failure mode prevented) as addressed in the presentation.  The intent is to discuss and capture information concerning lessons learned, potential solutions to unanswered questions, efforts needed to be undertaken to provide solutions to any unanswered questions and a better understanding of the failure mode discussed.

    Submission Dates:

    • The deadline for the submission of Summary Papers is Friday February 6, 2009.
    • The deadline for the submission of Power Point Presentations is Friday February 20, 2009.
    • Subsequent to submission, authors may continue to revise Summary Papers and Presentations but must submit their revised files on flash drive at a minimum of one (1) hour in advance of their scheduled presentation time.
    • Summary Papers and Presentations must be submitted electronically to the attention of Ms. Jennifer Forbes at jennifer.forbes@ceati.com
