Asset Management Task Force

Objective:

The CEATI Asset Management Task Force will provide a focused platform for best practices and technical exchange as well as identify, review, evaluate and pursue potential collaborative studies.

Discussion Topics/ Potential Work Areas:

• Review of asset and risk management frameworks and practices currently being employed by hydro utilities;
• To review approaches, processes and tools used to support key asset management steps/decisions including:
  • Identification of critical assets
  • Capital investment planning
  • Life cycle costing and planning
  • Selection & usage of asset information systems
  • Contractor performance monitoring
  • Cost/work estimating
• Reliability and financial optimization
• Contracting strategies
• Cost benefit analysis techniques (RET Screen)
• Project evaluation and review techniques (PERT)
• Project financing
• Development of acceptable operating risk strategies
• Financial modeling
• Business planning and budgeting
• Asset management software systems SAP
