CEATI Distribution Planning Workshop, June 8 - 9, 2010 - Toronto, Canada

The CEATI Distribution Planning Workshop will address distribution planning for the 21st century, and will include planning for both a smarter grid and to manage reliability. Other topics to be covered include the evolution of electric loads and the integration of renewable energy sources into the distribution system.

The workshop will present an overview of planning philosophy, from present to future, specifically related to smart grid planning. Over a series of five sessions, discussions will focus on distribution planning for the 21st century.

CEATI Water Management 2010: Integrating Renewable Energy Source - September 23-24, 2010 - Stockholm, Sweden

In order to understand and potentially mitigate any negative impacts of increased variable output, non-dispatchable generation, it is important to collect and share information and knowledge related to the integration of this type of generation with hydroelectric generation. While many generating companies have been able to establish an integrated system, encompassing both traditional and new types of generation, or are moving towards integration, others have limited options in this area and must find other ways to adapt. This workshop offers the opportunity for participants to improve their understanding of systems where hydroelectric generation is challenged by the impact of integration and perhaps to be in a position to mitigate any anticipated negative impacts.
