A Food Industry Guide to CFC and HcFC Refrigeration Phase-Out (Volume II)
Abstract
The objectives of this project were to stimulate the inclusion of energy saving measures into refrigeration systems at the time of replacement of CFC and HCFC refrigerants. Part II, a practitioner's guide, describes a strategy that allows the investment which is necessary to implement refrigerant changeout to be paid back through operating cost reductions resulting from energy savings. A broad range of energy saving techniques that can be bundled-in with refrigerant retrofits are described, expected savings quantified anda set of application-specific case studies provided.
