CEATI and the Dam Safety Interest Group (DSIG) intend to update their technical guidance for floating debris management. The current guidance is now 5 to 10 years old. This report intends to ensure that the DSIG guidance is up to date by reviewing the current version of the guide and public technical literature to determine where guidance or tool development are needed. To augment this literature review, interviews have been conducted with a select number of DSIG owners, operators, and others to obtain perspectives on current and future needs. The technical vision of the DSIG is to set priorities for future research projects. Project areas related to debris management are identified to provide owners and operators with reliable knowledge of dam safety issues and a greater capacity to share knowledge both within DSIG and more broadly, with researchers and engineering practitioners.
