CEATI and the Dam Safety Interest Group intends to update its technical guidance for floating debris management. The current guidance is now 5 to 10 years old. The proposed work intends to ensure that this guidance is up to date by reviewing current versions of the guidance and of the public technical literature, and determining where new guidance or tool development is needed. To augment this literature review, interviews will be conducted with a select number of Dam Safety Interest Group (DSIG) owners and operators to obtain their perspectives on current and future needs. The technical vision of the DSIG is to set priorities for future research projects. Project areas related to debris management will be identified to provide owners and operators with reliable knowledge on dam safety issues and a greater capacity to share and transfer knowledge both within DSIG and more broadly with researchers and engineering practitioners.
