With the onset of more formal data-driven asset management practices, utilities have taken steps to enhance their data collection and information requirements. However, in some cases, this has resulted in data collection practices that are not aligned with the evolution of asset management and continuous improvement, resulting in uncertainty as to what is the right, and right amount of, information for the life cycle management of transmission line assets/components. This project is intended to build a data and information framework highlighting relevant information that might be required at various stages in the evolution of asset management, and the reasons why such data are required.
