The objective of this project is to examine risk evaluation techniques specific for overhead transmission lines that include risk quantification, risk analysis in terms of consequences and their probability of occurrence. Risk assessment attempts to focus on the following questions:
– What are the root causes (risk identification)
– What are the consequences (risk analysis)
– What is the probability of their future occurrence (risk quantification)
– Are there any factors that mitigate the consequence of the risk or that reduce the probability of the risk
This would include links to different derivations for condition and criticality to determine the probability of failure and provides line of sight to industry practices.
