The objective of this project is to prepare a state of the art report for developing a robust fragility model for transmission system. The primary focus should be that the fragility model be GIS based. The report should develop a clear methodology in addressing the vulnerability of the transmission system to an extreme event such as (Wind storm, Wind and Ice event, Downbursts, HIW etc.) and to identify the most vulnerable “hot spot” within the system. The study should specifically address the following:
- What is likely to fail first?
- What materials (components) one should stock in preparation of a storm event once the “hot spot” has been identified?
- What tools are available in the market that can be easily used in assessing the vulnerability of overhead lines?
