The objective of this project is to prepare a state of the art report for developing robust fragility models for key transmission line components. The report should develop a clear methodology in developing the fragility models for key line components to an extreme event such as (Wind storm, Wind and Ice event, Downbursts, HIW and accidental loads etc.). The study should specifically address the following:
- What is likely to fail first?
- What tools are available in the market that can be used in developing robust fragility models of overhead lines?
- With respect to a transmission line, what components should be considered in the structural model for developing a robust fragility?
- What is a reasonable analytical process for developing transmission line component fragilities?
