The objective of this project is to prepare a state of the art report for a basic understanding of the self-damping characteristics of the HTLS conductor. As stated, self-damping characteristics is normally determined through laboratory measurements on a sample span. There are various standards that provide guidelines how these measurements should be done on traditional conductors and the data to be presented. In this project, TODEM group will specifically focus on conducting a self-damping measurement study of a “GAP” conductor and validate these measurement data through the HTLS model developed and presented in CEATI Report No. 33106.
