This project is to develop a guideline which can be followed by utility and consulting engineers in design, construction and testing of grounding systems located in high resistivity soil conditions.
This project is to develop recommendations and a guideline for best practices for grounding systems located in high resistivity soil conditions. The study should include a comparison between IEEE, IEC and utility limits and define functionally acceptable results which may not make ideal limits. The scope should include guidelines for handling or anticipating severe environment changes (climate change) which might affect resistivity conditions. These might include drought, flooding, frozen soils, shifting soils, soil stratification (new top layers) as well as man made vs natural environments.
