Some chemical compounds (e.g., nitrilo-tris-methylene phosphonic acid (NTMP), citric acid and polyacrylamide) may change the growth habit (size and shape) of gypsum. These are called crystal growth modifiers. This report summarizes the results of the investigation of the effects of these crystal growth modifiers on gypsum under FGD process chemistry conditions.
