The Program Manager plays a critical role in the delivery of value to our members and is often the primary point of contact for multiple membership programs (also known as interest groups). They work directly with our clients and in collaboration with other team members across a set of programs to prioritize, initiate and deliver a range of deliverables including technical research studies, conference presentations, training webinars, member surveys, etc. This role requires a general set of business orientated skills with strong emphasis on the ability to learn quickly, provide great customer service, prioritize work and client requests, and communicate clearly and efficiently.

This role provides a unique opportunity to make a direct impact on our clients while learning about the electrical utilities business and power industry, as well as developing knowledge and skills related to business-to-business (B2B) product management and operations.

The role is remote, based in Canada with flexible work arrangements available.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of member programs and research initiatives, partnering with Technical Advisors and stakeholders to prioritize investments and maximize member value.
  • Apply data, benchmarking insights, member feedback, and business considerations to support program strategy and investment decisions.
  • Monitor program performance, member engagement, and satisfaction, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, advocate for their needs, and deliver value to their organization.
  • Collaborate with our Commercial team to support member retention, business development, and overall program success.
  • Facilitate and present at member meetings, webinars, workshops, and conferences, driving productive discussions and clear outcomes.
  • Coordinate research portfolios and project execution with Technical Advisors, ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Develop surveys, reports, presentations, and other member-facing content that communicate insights and demonstrate program value.
  • Stay current on industry and technology trends, identifying opportunities to enhance programs, processes, and member outcomes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, social sciences, or a related field is required; a graduate degree is an asset.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in program or project management, including experience coordinating with technical experts and business stakeholders.
  • Business Acumen & Strategic Thinking: Ability to evaluate competing priorities, assess business value and ROI, and make recommendations that align member needs, program objectives, and financial considerations.
  • Data Analysis & Decision Making: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, synthesize insights, and support evidence-based decision making. Experience with surveys, benchmarking, or research analysis is an asset.
  • Program & Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stakeholder Management & Customer Focus: Demonstrated success building relationships and collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including clients, technical experts, and commercial teams.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences. French language skills are an asset.
  • Ownership & Accountability: Self-starter who operates effectively with limited supervision, takes initiative, and drives work through to completion.
  • Technology & Digital Fluency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and collaboration tools. Experience leveraging CRM systems, project management platforms, AI-enabled productivity tools, and data visualization/reporting tools is an asset.
  • Industry Curiosity: Interest in the energy and utility sector, emerging technologies, and industry trends, with a desire to continuously learn and contribute to program innovation.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

  • Permanent full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Travel required 2–3 times annually within North America to support member meetings, conferences, and program events.
  • Additional travel may be required for industry conferences, member engagement, and professional development activities.
  • Language of Work: Primarily English, with some French depending on the customer, so bilingual (English and French) is not required, but highly preferred.

Pay: $36.00-$39.00 per hour
